Front lit means the sign is not illuminated from behind or within, but rather by the sunlight or by a line of added lights at the bottom or top of the sign (line lights).

Front-lit signs are boards with vinyl applications in the form of letters or prints. These signs are used for shops as well as outside buildings, and often show directions, e.g. showing visitors and staff the way around sites.
